1. Rental Terms & Security Deposit Policy

At Akoma Couture, we offer exclusive access to premium couture and bridal collections. To maintain the quality and purity of our garments, all rentals are governed by the following terms:

  • Rental Period: Standard rental durations are 4 days or 8 days, starting from the date of delivery/pickup to the date of return dispatch. Extended rentals are available upon request and subject to availability.

  • Security Deposit: A refundable security deposit is required for all rental bookings. This amount is calculated based on the outfit’s retail value and will be refunded within 3–5 business days post-return inspection.

  • Garment Care & Cleaning: Do not attempt to wash, dry clean, or spot-clean any garment. Professional eco-cleaning is included in your rental fee. Improper cleaning attempts that alter the fabric or embroidery will result in a forfeit of the security deposit.

  • Damages & Loss:

    • Minor Wear & Tear: Normal wear (e.g., loose threads or faint hem dust) is covered.

    • Severe Damage: Tears, permanent stains, burned fabric, or missing embellishments will be assessed upon return. Repair costs will be deducted from your security deposit.

    • Total Loss or Non-Return: If a garment is severely damaged beyond repair or not returned, the client will be charged the full retail market value of the outfit.

  • Late Returns: Delayed returns affect upcoming client bookings. A fee of 20% of the daily rental rate per day will be deducted from the security deposit for unapproved late returns.

2. Custom Fitting & Bespoke Consultations

We take pride in creating garments tailored precisely to your silhouette and aesthetic vision.

  • Consultation Booking: Virtual and in-studio consultations can be scheduled directly through akomacouture.in. A nominal appointment fee may apply, which is credited toward your order upon confirmation.

  • Measurements:

    • In-Studio: Our master tailors record exact measurements during your fitting session.

    • Remote/Virtual: For virtual fittings, clients are provided with our official Measurement Guide. Akoma Couture is not responsible for fit discrepancies resulting from inaccurate client-provided measurements.

  • Fitting Sessions: Custom bridal and couture orders typically require 1 to 3 fitting sessions to achieve perfection. We strongly advise booking your bespoke order at least 6–8 weeks prior to your event date.

  • Alteration Limits for Rentals: Minor non-destructive alterations (such as temporary hem adjustments or bust snaps) may be performed only by Akoma Couture’s in-house tailors. Unauthorised cutting or permanent alterations on rented garments are strictly prohibited.

3. Shipping & Delivery Policy

We ensure that every creation reaches you securely, pristine, and ready for your occasion.

  • Processing & Transit Times:

    • Rental Orders: Delivered 1–2 days prior to your selected rental start date.

    • Custom Couture / Made-to-Order: Production takes 4–8 weeks depending on the embroidery complexity, followed by express shipping.

  • Shipping Charges & Coverage:

    • We ship domestically across India and offer insured international shipping worldwide.

    • Shipping fees and transit insurance are calculated at checkout based on weight and destination.

  • Package Receiving: All deliveries require a signature upon receipt. Please inspect the outer packaging before accepting. If the parcel appears damaged or tampered with, take photos immediately and contact our support team within 6 hours of delivery.

4. Cancellation, Returns & Refund Policy

Due to the intimate and custom nature of high fashion, bridal wear, and time-sensitive rentals, our return policy operates as follows:

Made-to-Order & Custom Outfits

  • Non-Refundable: All custom-tailored and made-to-order garments are handcrafted specifically for you and are final sale. They are not eligible for return, exchange, or refund.

  • Cancellations: Cancellations are accepted within 24 hours of order placement for a full refund. After 24 hours, production commences and cancellations cannot be honored.

Rental Outfits

  • Cancellation Deadlines:

    • 30+ days prior to event: Full refund (minus a 5% administrative fee).

    • 14–29 days prior to event: 50% store credit issued.

    • Under 14 days: Non-refundable due to reserved inventory.

  • Fit Guarantee / Unworn Returns: If a rental garment does not fit upon arrival, notify us within 12 hours of delivery and dispatch it back in its original, unworn condition with tags attached. Upon inspection, a store credit (less shipping costs) will be issued.
